The ‘BASE’ silo car park version is the most economical. It does not provide for any painting or covering of the structural elements and in particular the perimeter beams and their guardrails. However, the existing vegetation, which already surrounds the existing parking area, creates a vegetation mask which acts as a filter
and attenuated the perception of the work seems partially concealed.
The PSE3 + option 2 version of the project is the most elaborate. Note first of all the cladding panels of the beams which give the helicoidal ramps a circular appearance as well as the lacquered steel guardrails which crown the structure. The analysis of the PLU of the neighboring zones as well as the observation of the dominant tones of the facades of the surrounding buildings and roofs directed us towards a color of the OCHER or BRONZE type. These facade panels, the color of which will be specified and to be discussed later with the MOA and the instructing services, offer reflections and interesting color schemes. Note also the removal of the asphalt on the periphery of the structure and the addition of planted areas (15 trees in total) which aim to create a green screen between the car park and the residential area.
The result is a building perfectly integrated into its environment which contributes to a coherent overall image of the buildings making up the Montpellier University Hospital.
The OPTION 3 version of the project is at the crossroads of the two previous options presented: it proposes painting the edge beams on their exterior faces, which contributes to a better integration of the whole. However, it does not include the repair of the existing asphalt and does not include landscaping. It offers an excellent integration-consistency of the whole / Cost of investment ratio.
