Air Liquide, the world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health, inaugurated its new R & D center in Shanghai on February 25, 2016. The Shanghai Research and Technology Center (SRTC) is located in the industrial park Xinzhuang in Minhang District in Shanghai. Called to become « a major center for the group’s innovation in the Asia-Pacific region », this center is Air Liquide’s fifth largest R & D center in the world with an investment of 200 million RMB (nearly 28 million million) and 18,000 m² of premises. The center will ultimately bring together 250 people to work on the themes of energy transition, urban air quality, wastewater treatment, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, food security and health.

Present in China since 1916, the group shows its willingness to engage in the country in the long term. The inauguration of the SRTC follows the anniversary of the 20th anniversary of the Hangzhou Engineering and Construction site, which employs nearly 700 people. With nearly 90 production units in 40 highly concentrated cities in the east of the country, Air Liquide wants to expand its presence to the center, south and west of China.
